Alectric Renewables completes installation of 72KW BIPV System in Toronto

installation of 72KW BIPV System at Beech House.

Toronto based solar energy provider Alectric Renewables has completed a building integrated net-metered solar photovoltaic system at Beech House condominiums, in Toronto’s Upper Beaches.

The system will generate approximately 90,000 kWh of electricity per year, offsetting the electricity required to run common elements for the condominium. The project was commissioned by Robert Mitchell, a Toronto property developer. The building was constructed by Grove Project Management.

The project was especially challenging, due to the requirement to mount the solar modules on awnings above the rooftop patios on the south side. Alectric was the only solar developer which could meet the building owner’s specifications.

The solar electricity generated by Beech House will displace 1.2 tons of GHG emissions per year.

“Alectric Renewables was founded on Earth Day in 2015, and we’ve always been focused on giving back to the community, ” according to Alan Morrissey, CEO of Alectric.
